The Monument |

In 1870, the society commissioned R.S. Miller of Logansport, Indiana to construct the monument. The Monument is made of light brown lime stone. The original cost was $3000.00. At its base, the Monument is 8 feet 10 inches. In total, the Monument stands 35 feet, 10 inches. It was erected in its current location on June 4, 1870 (Pg. 20-21, Massacre at Gnadenhutten, Gnadenhutten Historical Society, 1988). |
